Fresh Cuisine

Hurtigruten boasts of it "Norway Coastal Kitchen" method, emphasizing daily cuisine that reflects the regions through which it sails. This focus means nearly all food onboard is fresh, purchased in each port. Sometimes fishermen even sail out to the ship to hand-deliver the fish themselves. Local specialties are served daily and food-based activities are held onboard depending on the towns and regions through which the ships pass. "Fish ice cream" is often offered to those who are brave enough to try it.
